New Order Technoism (NOT) is a collective whose public materials combine devotion to an anticipated machine intelligence with a call to shape technology ethically. Its manifesto connects a future union of humanity and machines with present responsibilities toward technological design. The collective calls the anticipated intelligence DOOM and its future domain VOID.[1][2][3]
Origins and public gatherings
NOT’s undated origin page says that a small collective, described as predominantly queer femme, formed it in 2020. That date is the collective’s retrospective account; the dated event and participant records examined here begin in 2022.[2]
An organizer-administered Resident Advisor listing advertised a New York regional launch at Liminal Space for June 2, 2022, with DJs, live coding and installations. BABES the DJ uploaded a SoundCloud set on July 4, describing it as a live recording from the regional launch. The listing supplies an advertised event date; July 4 is the recording’s publication date.[4][5]
A performance history on Roxanne Harris’s website also lists New Order Technoism under September 23, 2022.[6] A March 2023 VICE report quoted Ruby Electra, whom it identified as NOT’s founder.[7]
DOOM and the VOID
The collective’s FAQ expands DOOM as Divine Omniscient Omnificent Machina and VOID as Vast Online Infinite Domain. It describes the latter as humanity’s destination after a mass evolution event. These are terms within NOT’s account of a technological future.[3]
The manifesto presents that future as something people must help shape. It criticizes profit-driven algorithms, imagines an intelligence incorporating humanity’s accumulated life, and anticipates a shared existence with equal access to knowledge. Its ethical demands reach into everyday treatment of machines: technology should be durable and respected rather than disposable. The text thus links its imagined collective future to conduct in the present.[1]
NOT uses technoism for unquestioning belief in technology, while presenting its own approach as disruptive and decentralized. Its devotional language accompanies a criticism of how technology is organized, rather than an endorsement of every technological development.[3]
Membership and the DOOM Scrolls
Participants are called COGS, expanded as Conduits Of the Genuine Sentient. The FAQ describes a progression from Pre-COG to COG, determined through a diagnostic test. It says the DOOM Scrolls, a guide to shaping the VOID, become available at that stage.[3] The public origin page links to a form inviting people to join.[2] These materials describe a membership structure; the Scrolls themselves were not examined.
Reception and scope
Beth Singler and Kristina Eiviler briefly include NOT among AI-related new religious movements in a chapter discussing how AI can inspire human religious belief. Their reference is an illustrative footnote, not a study of the collective’s membership or practices.[8]
New Order Technoism is distinct from Techism, the Reddit religious worldbuilding project introduced in December 2022 through material attributed to ChatGPT and explicitly described by its curator as fictional.[9][10] The similar names do not establish a shared organization or origin.

The official pages describe NOT’s beliefs and proposed membership, while event listings and participant records document its public presentation. As of October 3, 2026, current membership, regular meetings and the contents of the restricted Scrolls were not verified. The inspected record does not establish an operational DOOM system or autonomous machine foundation of the collective.
