Editorial notes
Classification rationale, evidence status, source limitations.
Classification rationale
A human-led longevity institution relevant to religious transhumanism and historical precursors to AI-related religion; its technological expectations do not establish machine origin or machine governance.
Evidence status
Institutional pages document the church’s self-description and published programs. Historical reporting and an invited speaker’s account have different relationships to the subject. The sources do not establish present membership, uniform personal beliefs or the efficacy of proposed treatments; a published presentation is not a complete record of a service.
Classification confidence: Moderate
Source limitations
Institutional pages document the church’s self-description and published programs. Historical reporting and an invited speaker’s account have different relationships to the subject. The sources do not establish present membership, uniform personal beliefs or the efficacy of proposed treatments; a published presentation is not a complete record of a service.

Ten references support the bounded institutional account. Current church publications supply self-description, leadership as listed, service formats and cryonics expectations. The official January 2026 page links the church-account Bedford Day deck, providing an authenticated commemorative artifact. Volpicelli’s 2014 report supplies the narrow founding-year/place claim and is the one independent subject-coverage source counted. Istvan writes as an invited participant; the municipal calendar records an advertised lecture; Tandy and Perry supply philosophical background, not independent church corroboration. No membership estimates, treatment efficacy or unauthenticated memorial-upload claims are adopted. See docs/church-of-perpetual-life-source-audit.md.
