Selective source preservation
Policy version 1.0Updated 1 August 2026Records 20
Preserve the minimum evidence necessary to reconstruct active Hieropedia claims while respecting rights, privacy, proportionality, and the project's non-archival scope.
Hieropedia may preserve
- sources cited by active articles and evidence dossiers
- unique first-party pages likely to disappear
- dated public API responses, rosters, manifests, and datasets
- central public statements and source metadata
- metadata and hashes when copying is inappropriate
- Hieropedia's own evidence dossiers and structured records
Hieropedia will not
- crawl the open web indiscriminately
- mirror entire platforms
- promise comprehensive custody
- preserve material unrelated to active research
- redistribute material without rights and privacy review
- treat an archive copy as proof of authenticity, agency, belief, or authorship
Operating principles
- acquisition must be tied to an active article or dossier
- capture must be source-specific and proportionate
- metadata hashes must state that they are not content hashes
- rights, redistribution, restriction, and takedown status must be explicit
- known changes and preservation limits remain visible
- link monitoring reports; it never silently rewrites citations
